Softball Recap: Chippewa Comes Up Short

If Chippewa was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Central Christian on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chipps fell 6-2 to the Dalton Bulldogs on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Chipps in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Chippewa got a good showing from EMMA SCRITCHFIELD, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits SCRITCHFIELD has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, MAIA KISER made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Chippewa's record is now 3-11. As for Dalton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dalton beat Chippewa by a score of 13-5 on Thursday.
