Basketball Recap: Gwinn Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hancock last Tuesday, Gwinn came back down to earth. The Gwinn Modeltowners were outmatched by the Iron Mountain Mountaineers and fell 73-27. The contest marked the Modeltowners' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Gwinn's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Iron Mountain, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gwinn will take on Westwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iron Mountain, they will face off against Kingsford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingsford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Iron Mountain likes a good challenge.
