Soccer Game Preview: Eau Gallie vs. Rockledge

The Eau Gallie Commodores will face off against the Rockledge Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eau Gallie's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Friday, Eau Gallie didn't have quite enough to beat Vero Beach and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Rockledge came up short against Titusville last Monday, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Terriers are ranked 163rd).

Eau Gallie's loss dropped their record down to 5-9-2. As for Rockledge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Eau Gallie came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockledge when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eau Gallie since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
