Beaver Local had lost ten games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-9 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Oak Glen Golden Bears by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For the Beavers, this counts as revenge for the 15-5 victory the Golden Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Paxton Grimes made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Beaver Local is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 0-8 otherwise. Grimes was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braxton Hickman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Andre Wiegand also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Oak Glen, they dropped their record down to 7-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Oak Glen's side, Noah Willey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. Willey has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Christian Chappell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Beaver Local will have a chance to go back-to-back against Oak Glen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
