Crossroads Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Will Alston and Ben Gladieux

Recap: Crossroads Christian Colts vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

If the Crossroads Christian Colts were riding high off their 74-46 takedown of the Falls Lake Firebirds on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Crossroads Christian lost to Roosevelt on the road by a decisive 68-52 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Crossroads Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 135th in North Carolina, while Roosevelt is ranked 13th in District of Columbia).

Despite the loss, Crossroads Christian had strong showings from Ben Gladieux, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, and Will Alston, who scored 13 points. Gladieux set a new season high mark in blocks with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Ely Phillips, who scored 12 points.

Roosevelt found their leader in underclassman Jamall Price, Jr., who scored 21 points along with six assists and five steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Sean Hall, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Crossroads Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Roosevelt, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Crossroads Christian and United Faith Christian Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Roosevelt, they will take on Ron Brown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
