Basketball Game Preview: North Mecklenburg Vikings vs. Terry Sanford Bulldogs

The North Mecklenburg Vikings will challenge the Terry Sanford Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Mecklenburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Terry Sanford likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, North Mecklenburg humbled Weddington with a 61-22 victory. Those 61 points were actually the fewest the Vikings have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Terry Sanford lost to Lake Norman on the road by a 63-49 margin two weeks ago.

North Mecklenburg will need to focus on slowing down Alani-Skye Wilkerson, one of several Terry Sanford players who made an impact when they last played. She went 8-for-16 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ameya Brown, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

North Mecklenburg's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.9 points on average over those games. As for Terry Sanford, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
