Basketball Game Preview: Fort Lauderdale Flying L's vs. American Heritage Patriots

The Fort Lauderdale Flying L and the American Heritage Patriots will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Fort Lauderdale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully American Heritage likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Fort Lauderdale ended up a good deal behind Cardinal Gibbons and lost 80-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (61), the Flying L's still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, American Heritage entered their tilt with Cooper City on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 53-44.

American Heritage is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Fort Lauderdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Fort Lauderdale was dealt a bruising 94-67 loss at the hands of American Heritage in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Fort Lauderdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
