Basketball Game Preview: Twin Falls Bruins vs. Pocatello Thunder

Twin Falls is 2-7 against Pocatello since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Twin Falls Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pocatello Thunder at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Twin Falls came up short against Canyon Ridge and fell 42-34. The contest marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pocatello). They walked away with a 67-57 victory over San Pedro on Friday. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 24th in Idaho, while the Pirates are ranked 340th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pocatello now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Twin Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Twin Falls came up short against Pocatello in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 57-51. Can Twin Falls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
