Basketball Recap: Hopkins Takes a Loss

Hopkins was the 54-43 winner over King when they last played one another back in January of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Hopkins Hilltoppers came up short against the King Vikings on Wednesday, falling 89-65. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

King's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was George Mccormack, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave Mccormack a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aj Trimboli, who went 5 of 9 en route to 19 points and six assists.

Hopkins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for King, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Hopkins is taking a road trip to take on Rye Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for King, they will be playing at home against Kingswood Oxford at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
