Baseball Game Preview: James Buchanan Rockets vs. Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils

The James Buchanan Rockets will head out to challenge the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, James Buchanan didn't have quite enough to beat Northern York and fell 5-4. The loss put an end to the Rockets' undefeated start to the season.

James Buchanan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimmy Bell, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Greencastle-Antrim was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Shippensburg with a sharp 9-3 victory. The game was the first time the Blue Devils have beaten the Greyhounds on their field since April 13, 2021.

Ben Horst looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Nolan Sullivan was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Bryce Davidson was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Greencastle-Antrim kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Greencastle-Antrim's record now sits at 2-0. As for James Buchanan, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

James Buchanan couldn't quite finish off Greencastle-Antrim in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can James Buchanan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
