Basketball Game Preview: Union Grove Christian Patriots vs. Living Water Christian Warriors

Two dominant guards in Colin Wykes and Dwight Hooker are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Union Grove Christian Patriots just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Living Water Christian Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Union Grove Christian is returning to their home court after beating Woodland Baptist Christian on theirs, despite the fact Woodland Baptist Christian has dominated at home this season. Union Grove Christian pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over Woodland Baptist Christian on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Meanwhile, Living Water Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cyclones, sneaking past 53-51. The win was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Cyclones are ranked 102nd).

Living Water Christian's win came from a few key players Union Grove Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hooker, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 16 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Cooper, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Living Water Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Union Grove Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
