Softball Recap: Monmouth United Takes a Loss

Monmouth United lost against Abingdon/Avon back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Storm came up short against the Tornadoes, falling 20-3. That's two games in a row now that the Red Storm have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Monmouth United saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Lair, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That stolen base was Lair's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Monmouth United and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Abingdon/Avon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

While Monmouth United had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
