Football Recap: Fort Gibson Starts Season with Win Against Glenpool

Fort Gibson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Glenpool Warriors with a sharp 42-21 win on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Fort Gibson was led to victory by Corey Hutton and Cash Keys. Hutton rushed for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, while Keys gained 127 total yards and four touchdowns.

Fort Gibson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brody Hansen and Keys. Keys got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Gibson will host Berryhill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Glenpool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Skiatook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
