Baseball Game Preview: Allen Eagles vs. Plano Wildcats

The Allen Eagles will take on the Plano Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Allen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Plano's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Wednesday, Allen didn't have quite enough to beat Rock Hill and fell 9-8.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plano). They blew past McKinney 18-4 on Friday. The Wildcats have beaten the Lions the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.

Plano's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Allen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.

Everything went Allen's way against Plano in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as Allen made off with a 10-4 victory. Does Allen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Plano turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
