Basketball Game Preview: Anna Coyotes vs. Lovejoy Leopards

Anna is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Lovejoy Leopards at 6:15 p.m. Anna will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Anna never let Mesquite get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The two-point effort marked the Coyotes' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Lovejoy earned a 47-34 victory over Panther Creek on Friday. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Panthers are ranked 787th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anna's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Lovejoy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Anna came up short against Lovejoy in their previous matchup back in January, falling 43-36. Can the Coyotes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
