Softball Game Preview: Jefferson-Morgan Rockets vs. McGuffey Highlanders

The Jefferson-Morgan Rockets will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the McGuffey Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. McGuffey took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson-Morgan, who comes in off a win.

Jefferson-Morgan took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Frazier, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Jefferson-Morgan came out on top in a nail-biter against Frazier on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-4.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, McGuffey was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They fell just short of Carmichaels by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Mighty Mikes: they've now lost seven in a row.

Miley Main was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Jefferson-Morgan couldn't quite finish off McGuffey when the teams last played back in May of 2022 and fell 4-2. Can Jefferson-Morgan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
