Basketball Recap: Olathe North's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Olathe North had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed past the Olathe East Hawks to the tune of 63-33. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Olathe North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Asia Lee led the charge by going 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points and five rebounds. What's more, Lee posted three assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Allie Workman, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 16 points.

Olathe North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Olathe North's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. As for Olathe East, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.

Looking ahead, Olathe North will head out on the road to take on Mill Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Olathe North knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Mill Valley likes a good challenge. As for Olathe East, they will face off against Gardner-Edgerton on Tuesday. Gardner-Edgerton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
