After losing to El Dorado the last time they met, Burleson decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Elks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Aztecs on Thursday.

Burleson found their leader in sophomore Guinevere VanderTol, who had three digs and three aces.

Burleson's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for El Dorado, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Burleson will be taking part in a tournament against Keller Central at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Dorado, they will head out on the road to take on Granbury at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
