Volleyball Recap: Midway Triumphs

Midway won the last time they faced Lakeland and things went their way on Saturday too. Midway came out on top against Lakeland by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Midway.

Bella Landis was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had seven aces. Those seven aces gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Midway was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland only served three.

Despite the loss, Lakeland had strong showings from Addison Meeker, who had ten digs, and Kylie Moran, who had two aces. Meeker is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Midway now has a winning record of 12-11-3. As for Lakeland, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Midway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Sherwood on the 11th. As for Lakeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Archie on the 14th.
