Two dominant backs in Parker Kaczmarek and Dylan Callado are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mesquite Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Coconino Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mesquite will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points last Friday, then bounced right back against Poston Butte on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 31-7 margin over the Broncos. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coconino). They blew past Flagstaff 47-21 on Thursday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Panthers just coasted through the last quarter.

Mesquite better keep an eye on Jake Hanley. He was instrumental in Coconino's win, throwing for 224 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 125 yards on only 13 carries. Those 125 rushing yards gave Hanley a new career-high. Dylan Buckley was another key player, rushing for 76 yards and two scores on only five carries.

Coconino was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 373 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Coconino didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bruce Larsen and Aj Ragan. Ragan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Coconino's record now sits at 6-4. As for Mesquite, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
