It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fountain Valley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mater Dei Monarchs by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Barons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Anthony Zamora made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Fountain Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Mater Dei, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-13.

Fountain Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mater Dei, they will challenge West Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Monarchs surely won't give up without a fight.
