Basketball Recap: Piedmont Classical Bobcats vs. Carver Yellowjackets
If Piedmont Classical was feeling good fresh off their 66-28 takedown of Phoenix Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Piedmont Classical Bobcats took a 68-52 bruising from the Carver Yellowjackets on Friday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden McCullum, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. McCullum is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryson Motley, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Piedmont Classical was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carver only racked up ten assists.
Carver got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kejuan Bruton out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Glaspie, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals.
Piedmont Classical's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Carver, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Piedmont Classical will take on Bishop McGuinness at 8:00 p.m. on January 10th. Piedmont Classical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season. As for Carver, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-69 defeat against Leadership Academy on the 8th.
