Football Recap: Griffin Bears vs. Sumter County Panthers
Friday just wasn't the day for Griffin's offense. They were outmatched by the Sumter County Panthers on the road and fell 31-0. The defeat leaves the Bears without a win on the season.
Quay'Shaun Tatum went supernova for Sumter County, rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Griffin's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sumter County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Griffin will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Spencer at 7:00 p.m. on September 6th. As for Sumter County, they will challenge Pike County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
