Baseball Game Preview: Rogers Mountaineers vs. Har-Ber Wildcats

The Rogers Mountaineers will challenge the Har-Ber Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rogers will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Rogers proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Har-Ber 8-6. The game was the first time the Mountaineers have beaten the Wildcats on their field since April 26, 2022.

For Har-Ber's part, LUKE CORNELISON was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. CORNELISON was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season.

CORNELISON wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was NASH JEFFUS, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. JEFFUS also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Har-Ber's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rogers, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
