Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. Prince of Peace Eagles
Heritage Christian kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell to the Prince of Peace Eagles 56-50.
Leading Prince of Peace to victory were Naomi White and Kihanna Mellanson. White went 8 for 20 en route to 20 points plus five rebounds and three steals, while Mellanson went 9 for 21 en route to 21 points plus five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave White a new career-high in offensive rebounds (four). Tepper Bryant was another key player, scoring four points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals.
The victory got Prince of Peace back to even at 1-1.
Heritage Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fellowship Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Prince of Peace, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-41 win against Oakridge on the 15th.
