Basketball Recap: South Lewis Takes a Loss

If South Lewis was riding high fresh off their 65-31 takedown of Alexandria Central last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Lewis Falcons were beaten by the Beaver River Beavers 83-53 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 653rd, while the Beavers are ranked 291st).

South Lewis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Beaver River, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

South Lewis will challenge Frankfort-Schuyler at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Frankfort-Schuyler's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. Beaver River has already played their next contest (against Weedsport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
