Softball Recap: East Prairie Eagles vs. Portageville Bulldogs

East Prairie entered their tilt with Portageville with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Portageville Bulldogs on Monday. For East Prairie, this counts as revenge for the 8-2 defeat Portageville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April.

Riley Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, East Prairie got a big performance out of Alison Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Shoffner, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

On Portageville's side, Kate Murphy stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Bryleigh Adams was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI, and a double.
