Basketball Game Preview: Valley Thunder Homeschool Thunder vs. Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions

The Valley Thunder Homeschool Thunder will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Valley Thunder Homeschool is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game back in December of 2024. They took a blow against Fredericksburg V, falling 67-22. The Thunder were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.

Meanwhile, Northern Virginia HomeSchool unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 54-29 to Fairfax HomeSchool. The Centurions were red-hot offensively headed into the game (they scored no less than 55 points in the four contests prior) but the Hawks' defense proved too tough.

Valley Thunder Homeschool's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.

Valley Thunder Homeschool was taken down by Northern Virginia HomeSchool 57-23 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Valley Thunder Homeschool was down 32-12.
