Softball Recap: West Deptford Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sterling, West Deptford was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pitman Panthers an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Jordyn Ambrosius's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joelle Kulnis, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Isabella Javadi, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

West Deptford's victory bumped their record up to 11-6-1. As for Pitman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Deptford will welcome Haddon Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pitman, they will host Penns Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
