Baseball Recap: Sutton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Quaboag Regional on Friday, Sutton came back down to earth. The Sammies fell just short of the Doherty Memorial Hilanders by a score of 5-3 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in April.

Chase Fournier made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Nate Alexander also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Sutton's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Doherty Memorial, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Sutton will venture away from home to face off against Bartlett at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Doherty Memorial, they will host Sutton/Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
