Basketball Recap: Rush-Henrietta Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rush-Henrietta had won two straight games and Avery Council did his part to make it three on Friday. The Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets walked away with a 64-54 victory over the Victor Blue Devils thanks in part to Council, who went 12 of 19 on his way to 34 points and seven rebounds. Those 34 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Taggart, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points and six rebounds. The match was his eighth in a row with at least ten points.

Rush-Henrietta's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Victor, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rush-Henrietta will welcome Penfield at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Rush-Henrietta's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Victor will take on Hilton in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
