Freeburg entered their tilt with Granite City on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Granite City Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 47-30. Given the Midgets' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Warriors are ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Freeburg pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Granite City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

When Freeburg and Granite City next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Freeburg will try to stop Columbia's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Meanwhile, Granite City will challenge Nokomis and their four-game winning streak at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
