Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Christian Warriors vs. Palmer Trinity Falcons

The Westminster Christian Warriors will face off against the Palmer Trinity Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Westminster Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-31 win over True North Classical Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Palmer Trinity humbled Somerset Academy South Homestead with a 61-7 victory. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Palmer Trinity's win came from a few key players Westminster Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Esparza, who posted 20 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Laria, who dropped a double-double with ten rebounds and ten steals.

Palmer Trinity pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points over those games. As for Westminster Christian, their record now sits at 12-9.

Westminster Christian might still be hurting after the 68-42 loss they got from Palmer Trinity when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Westminster Christian, Jade Leon (who dropped a double-double with 31 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
