Softball Recap: Eastside Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wade Hampton, Eastside was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the J.L. Mann Patriots 7-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kayden Vinson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emma Moyse, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Vinson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Eastside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Eastside's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for J.L. Mann, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastside will venture away from home to take on Spartanburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for J.L. Mann, they will head out to challenge Easley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give J.L. Mann their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
