Preview: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. Armwood Hawks
Tampa Bay Tech has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Armwood Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tampa Bay Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
Last Friday, Tampa Bay Tech didn't have too much trouble with Alonso at home as they won 41-24. The win was just what Tampa Bay Tech needed coming off of a 68-31 defeat in their prior game.
Tampa Bay Tech can attribute much of their success to Breanna Hartley, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Azjannie Culberth, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Culberth is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalese Salter, who scored seven points along with nine steals.
Meanwhile, Armwood entered their tilt with Middleton with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Armwood put the hurt on Middleton with a sharp 71-50 win on Wednesday. Armwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.
Tampa Bay Tech's record now sits at 8-9. As for Armwood, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Tampa Bay Tech was taken down by Armwood 45-18 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Armwood's Aniyah Moreno, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Now that Tampa Bay Tech knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
