Volleyball Recap: Dartmouth Gets the Win

Dartmouth's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the New Bedford Whalers 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Dartmouth was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 15-7.

Dartmouth can attribute much of their success to Sophia Rutkowski, who had 15 digs and one assist. Those 15 digs gave Rutkowski a new career-high.

Dartmouth is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for New Bedford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dartmouth will challenge Bridgewater-Raynham at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for New Bedford, they will face off against Brockton at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
