Recap: Sonora Raiders vs. Lakewood Lancers
The Sonora Raiders were the 71-66 winner over the Lakewood Lancers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Sonora fell 62-52 to Lakewood on Saturday. It was the first time this season that Sonora let down their fans at home.
Lakewood can attribute much of their success to Anthony Williams, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Keaton Lewis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Sonora's defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-5. As for Lakewood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonora will challenge Sunny Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Sunny Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Millikan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Millikan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 426 points over their last six contests.
