Baseball Recap: Hanover-Horton Beats Manchester for Their Third Straight Victory

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hanover-Horton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Manchester Flying Dutchmen 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Comets as they're now sitting on three straight.

Luke Soper spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lukas NaDell was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Hanover-Horton pushed their record up to 17-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Manchester, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
