Basketball Recap: Kennedy Commanders vs. Skyview Wolverines
Kennedy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Skyview Wolverines. The Commanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Despite the loss, Kennedy still got an impressive performance from Anthony Zink, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. That was a full 47.5% of Kennedy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Padilla, who earned seven points and three steals.
Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Skyview, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-55 loss against Jefferson Academy on the 20th. As for Skyview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-48 defeat against Arrupe Jesuit on the 21st.
