D1 District 4 (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012
Cross County was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in D1 District 4 (8 Man). The Cougars vanquished Shelby 50-28 earlier in the week.
High Plains took down East Butler 54-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tanner Fate threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 80 yards in the win.
The Storm's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Logan Fleming chipped in 101 yards. Tyler Martin helped High Plains' passing attack out by catching one ball for 45 yards.
Ben Nunnenkamp was the best wideout in the league this week as High Plains defeated the Tigers. Nunnenkamp racked up two receptions for 57 yards.
High Plains' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Storm feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Fate has thrown for 536 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Fleming has 13 catches for 216 yards. Fate also leads the league in rushing with 548 yards.
Two of the top units in D1 District 4 (8 Man) will face off this week when Greg Wood's team takes on the Huskies. The Storm's offense has scored 244 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Shelby has allowed only 216 on the year.
High Plains led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on East Butler. Fate in the win.
