STEM School Highlands Ranch is on a nine-game streak of home losses, and Poudre Community Academy a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans will welcome the Poudre Community Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Tuesday, STEM School Highlands Ranch lost to DSST: College View at home by a 38-22 margin.

Despite the loss, STEM School Highlands Ranch saw an underclassman step up: freshman Morgan Hamm posted ten points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Hamm a new career-high in points.
Meanwhile, Poudre Community Academy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Ascent Classical Academy, falling 42-16. The Warriors were down 31-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
STEM School Highlands Ranch will have to contain Hayden Belmont as she made an impact in Poudre Community Academy's last game. She scored six points in addition to 11 blocks and five rebounds. Belmont has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Howe, who had two points and ten boards.
Even though they lost, Poudre Community Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
STEM School Highlands Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Poudre Community Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: STEM School Highlands Ranch has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Poudre Community Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
STEM School Highlands Ranch was able to grind out a solid victory over Poudre Community Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 26-15.
