Basketball Recap: Morrill Skates Past Minatare with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morrill). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Minatare Indians 70-40. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morrill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashwin Pittman, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Pittman is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wyler Fisher, who went 7 for 13 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Morrill was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Morrill pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.2 points. As for Minatare, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Morrill has already played their next game, a 63-25 win against Edgemont on the 21st. As for Minatare, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-26 loss against South Platte on the 21st.
