Football Recap: Millikan Skates Past Newbury Park with Ease

After losing to Newbury Park the last time they met, Millikan decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams really took it to the Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-20 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-12.

Newbury Park lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brady Smigiel, who threw for 327 yards and a pair of TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground. Tyler Stromsoe helped Smigiel out on the ground, rushing for 110 yards, while also picking up 60 receiving yards.

Millikan has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Millikan will face off against Loyola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newbury Park, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Arroyo Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
