Baseball Recap: Veritas Academy Takes a Loss

If Veritas Academy was riding high fresh off their 22-9 takedown of Concordia last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Veritas Academy fell 7-3 to the Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders on Tuesday. Veritas Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Round Rock Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Will Gengler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Austin Layne was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Veritas Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Round Rock Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Round Rock Christian Academy beat Veritas Academy by a score of 8-4 later that day.
