Baseball Recap: Piper Victorious

While Piper put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Hays. The Pirates came out on top in a nail-biter against the Indians, sneaking past 2-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Dylan Eikenbary's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Roch Emanuel, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Jovahni Perez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Piper's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Hays, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piper will take on Shawnee Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hays, they will host Liberal on Thursday.
