Football Recap: Manitou Springs Comes Up Short

The matchup between Manitou Springs and Woodland Park on Friday hardly resembled the 14-7 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs were dealt a 49-13 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Even if they lost, Manitou Springs' defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Layton Little was especially locked on to Woodland Park's QB and sacked him 3.5 times.

It was another big night for Saie Soto, who rushed for 196 yards and five TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 35 receiving yards for Woodland Park. Demetrius Cecil Gochis got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Manitou Springs' loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Woodland Park, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.
