Basketball Recap: Piedmont Academy Takes a Loss

Piedmont Academy lost against John Milledge Academy back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Piedmont Academy Cougars took a blow against the John Milledge Academy Trojans, falling 54-27. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

John Milledge Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Johnson, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Elliott, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Piedmont Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for John Milledge Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Piedmont Academy will challenge First Presbyterian Day at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Piedmont Academy is facing First Presbyterian Day at the right time seeing as First Presbyterian Day is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. John Milledge Academy has already played their next contest, a 49-36 defeat against Deerfield-Windsor on the 18th.
