Baseball Recap: St. Martin Beats D'iberville for Their Third Straight Win

St. Martin entered their tilt with D'Iberville on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-7 on Tuesday.

St. Martin let Gavin Nitcavic and Sean Stiglets run wild. Nitcavic went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Stiglets went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Stiglets has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Lawrence, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Martin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.

St. Martin pushed their record up to 14-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for D'Iberville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season.

St. Martin will have a chance to go back-to-back against D'Iberville: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
