Softball Game Preview: Firebaugh Falcons vs. Notre Dame Titans

The Firebaugh Falcons will challenge the Notre Dame Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Firebaugh is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They skirted past Pioneer 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame got the win against Costa Mesa on Friday by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Sydney Cramer and Michaela Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Cramer pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Rodriguez pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Cramer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Cramer went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Rodriguez went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teresa Avila, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ximena Silva, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Notre Dame always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.

Firebaugh's record now sits at 18-8. As for Notre Dame, their record is now 13-9.
