Soccer Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Burges back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Jefferson Silver Foxes lost 4-1 to the Burges Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Silver Foxes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 602nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 147th).

Jefferson's goal came courtesy of Jesse Tinoco, which was the first he's scored this season.

Jefferson dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Burges, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will head out on the road to face off against Chapin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson is facing Chapin at the right time seeing as Chapin is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Burges, they will host Canutillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burges will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Canutillo will have lost six straight heading into Friday's game.
